Introduction to Self Rescue - SRCG Indoor Clinic

• Self Rescue is a huge topic, and the relevant skills will depend on the types of climbing you do
• This clinic will start with a group discussion about the types of climbing everyone does, and what risks are likely to be encountered
• Skills covered may include
  • Escaping the belay
  • Ascending the rope
  • Hauling from above
  • Emergency lowering
  • Bailing safely
  • Taking the belay from an incapacitated belayer
  • And more!

• Participants must be Top Rope Belay certified at Sportrock

Any gear not listed here will be provided to participants for no additional charge. If you have your own climbing gear that isn't listed here, you are encouraged to bring it.

• Harness
• Climbing shoes
• Tube style belay device of your choice
• Athletic clothes you can move and stretch in

We’re committed to providing a valuable learning experience, and we want to ensure you get the full benefit of this hands-on class. If you’re running 15 minutes or more behind, your payment will be transferred to a standard Day Pass without instruction, and you will not be permitted to join the class. No refund will be given. Due to the interactive nature, it’s essential to be present from the start to keep up with the instruction. In order to receive a full refund to the card used for initial payment, cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the start of your class. Any cancellations made after that point will receive a credit for the full value of the class to use towards future class bookings at Sportrock. Rescheduling for a different time is always allowed.
