Youth Team Tryouts

Youth Team Tryouts

Ready to take the next step in your climbing journey? Sportrock's Youth Team Tryouts are free and open to climbers ages 8–18 with prior climbing experience.

Whether you're exploring our youth programs for the first time or looking for the right team to help your athlete grow, tryouts are a great opportunity to meet our coaches, experience our program, and find the best fit.

Register today to reserve your free tryout spot!

New to climbing? We recommend starting with our Intro to Organized Youth Climbing (IOYC) program, an 8-week course that builds foundational climbing, safety, and teamwork skills before progressing into our Youth Team Pathway.

Prerequisites

  • A completed Participant Agreement is required.

  • Prior climbing experience is required.

  • Please complete the Youth Team Tryout Questionnaire before attending tryouts. Your responses will help our coaching staff get to know your athlete better before the tryout.

Unsure?

If your answers fall between both teams, sign up for the higher-level tryout. Coaches can always recommend placement on the team that best supports the athlete's long-term development.

Note: Tryout registration does not guarantee placement on a specific team. Final team assignments are made by the coaching staff based on movement quality, coachability, physical readiness, and overall fit—not climbing grades alone.
