Upcycled Climbing Walls by Wall Cycle Project

Discover how retired climbing walls are getting a second life! Join us for this special pop-up, featuring handcrafted standing desks, tables, and display pieces made entirely from reclaimed wall panels and hardware from Evolution Boulders.

Every piece preserves the history and personality of the original walls, texture chips, bolt holes, route markers, and all, while showcasing the power of sustainable creativity within the climbing community. This project reduces landfill waste, reinvests in local climbing, and brings the spirit of the gym into functional art you can actually use.

At the event, you’ll find:

A professional, eye-catching display of epoxy-poured upcycled furniture

• Raffle for DIY climbing panel side table set (Sponsored By TotalBoat)

• Desserts, coffee, and a book fair run by a librarian (Alexandria Library Card Signups!)

• Video demonstrations of the upcycling process

A narrative look at how climbing history is preserved in each piece

• Sign-ups for local clean-ups and environmental initiatives (Keep Virginia Beautiful, Access Fund, et al.)

• A donor table where guests can sign their name on a climbing panel that will be turned into a table and donated to State Climb

A silent auction featuring one or two custom tables, with proceeds benefiting State Climb

30% of all profits from this project support State Climb, funding youth programs, new climbers, and route development.
