Puerto Rico Climbing Getaway
As Summer turns to Fall, SRCG is already looking forward to Winter! We’re going to be chasing sunshine this December, and are heading to Puerto Rico for a very special Community Trip! This 5-day trip will include lodging in the San Juan area for easy access to restaurants, beaches, night life, and most importantly- hundred and hundreds of high-quality limestone routes! Let Sportrock handle the details so you can focus on sending! Our team of certified climbing guides and instructors will provide individualized instruction and support- if you want to toprope and just have fun, learn how to lead for the first time, or work on your onsight technique, this trip will provide the perfect opportunity!
This trip is appropriate for indoor and outdoor climbers who are comfortable climbing 5.8-5.13. No prior lead experience required, though more experienced lead climbers are certainly welcome- we will provide tailored instruction to each participant. Lodging is provided in the San Juan area, along with transportation to and from the airport, and transportation to climbing each day. Breakfast included each day, along with 1 group dinner out at a local restaurant. Guests may use the shared kitchen, or go out to any of the amazing local restaurants in San Juan.
Guests should plan on arriving by Wednesday, December 10th, and fly out on or after Sunday, December 14th. If you wish to stay longer on either end, we’re happy to coordinate with you! Evening return flights are readily available at the time of writing, and may allow for a trip to the beach on the 15th!
We will pick specific climbing areas based on the goals of the group, but here's an example of what your trip could look like! Optional afternoon activities include tours of historical sites, beach trips, and can be arranged based on the interests of the group. Group transport in our rented vehicles is included, and taxis are very affordable for any individual activities you’d like to pursue.

- Sportrock will pick you up at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport, or you can meet us at our lodgings
- Depending on flight time, enjoy the afternoon at the beach or a night on the town in San Juan
- Meet the group, gear check, make bag lunches, and pack for climbing
- Thursday, December 11th
- Enjoy breakfast at our lodgings before driving to the climbing site
- Climb at a local limestone sport climbing crag
- Eat lunch at the crag
- Enjoy afternoons at the beach, resting at home, or out exploring the town
- Dinner (not included) on your own or with the group
- Friday, December 12th
- Enjoy breakfast at our lodgings before driving to the climbing site
- Climb at a local limestone sport climbing crag
- Eat lunch at the crag
- Enjoy afternoons at the beach, resting at home, or out exploring the town
- Dinner (not included) on your own or with the group
- Saturday, December 13th
- Enjoy breakfast at our lodgings before driving to the climbing site

- Sunday, December 14th
- Enjoy breakfast at our lodgings, and say a sad goodbye!
- Depending on flight times, options include a half day of climbing or a beach trip
- Sportrock will drop participants off at the airport, or you can make other arrangements if you wish to extend your trip
