Escape to Vermont for three unforgettable days of ice climbing in some of New England’s most spectacular winter terrain. From the steep, dramatic ice of Bolton Valley to the legendary gullies and frozen waterfalls of Smugglers’ Notch, this trip offers an exhilarating taste of Vermont’s world-class ice climbing. Expect crisp mountain air, beautiful snowy approaches, a progression of ice climbing instruction with professional guides, and the satisfaction of climbing in a landscape that feels a world away from home.
3 full days of ice climbing with professional guides (Andrea Charest, AMGA Certified Ice Instructor)
Equipment rental: mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axes, harness, helmet, gaiters, belay parkas
Optional but included: 2-hour evening Avalanche Awareness class with AIARE provider Steve Charest (in person at your lodging location)
In addition, SRCG will host pre-trip clinics to help you prepare. Sessions will include:
- 1 evening virtual pre-trip meeting session (approx 1 hour)
- Meet&Greet and Training Discussion- Meet the other participants on this trip and learn what kind of fitness plan you might need to feel fully prepared.
